JRA Hosted SUP Eco Tour

Join JRA Experts Justin Doyle & Mike Lyden

Whether you are new to stand up paddleboarding or you are a seasoned pro, our Flatwater SUP Trips offer a chance for anyone to experience Richmond VA in an exciting way! Two things Riverside’s guides are passionate about are spending quality time on the James River and sharing it with others. Allow us to teach you and your family & friends the basic paddleboarding techniques such as safety, hydrology, proper body mechanics and a variety of paddle strokes…all on a flat, calm section of the James River.

Join our guides and special guest stars from the James River Association who will be sharing many intriguing facts about the rich history of this River City on America’s founding river…the mighty James. Get ready to be connected with this river-based learning experience that will inspire ecological understanding, nature appreciation, and conservation action. You will also find that this section of river is teeming with wildlife year round– ranging from colorful flowers and foliage, a healthy fish and turtle population and birds of all sizes– including majestic Great Blue Herons and Snowy Egrets. We even have regular Bald Eagle sightings!!

Ages 10 and up, with participating adult, are welcome and basic swimming skills are required (water levels may alter min. age).
Meet at Tredegar Boat Ramp  across from 470 Tredegar St, Richmond, VA 23219. Parking can be difficult, we recommend arriving 15 minutes early to find a spot. Feel free to park on 5th St, or the Belle Isle parking lot, or the War Memorial parking pot…directions available on Google.
