Riverside Outfitters Covid-19 Update (May 27th)

Like you, we at Riverside Outfitters have been trying to strike the balance between a healthy community and moving through to the other side of this pandemic. Given the guidance from the Governor’s office and Mayor’s office, we are thrilled to be responsibly re-opening this Friday, May 29th!! Our hours will be 9am-6pm 7 days/week. While just about all of our services will be available again, we are going to be operating at a significantly reduced capacity to uphold the Governor’s safety requirements. Also keep in mind that the water level is predicted to be too high for flat-water outings this weekend.

In addition to keeping our group sizes very small, we have of course implemented CDC best practices and Phase 1 requirements from the Governor’s office pertaining to the transmission of COVID-19…from monitoring staff health including mandatory touch-less temperature checks for all staff each morning, an outdoor check-in desk, mandatory 6′ of distancing for all non co-habitating customers (at the shop, in shuttle vehicles, on rafts, etc.), disinfecting all gear and equipment (vans, etc.) between uses, and staff face masks when on land, to hand sanitizing and washing stations abound… We are taking due caution to get you outside safely. You can help us keep you and ourselves safe by making all of your reservations online. For any questions, please feel free to contact us at or 804-560-0068.

Also, our Riverside Cycling shop remains open 11am-6pm 7 days/week. Make your rental reservations here online or feel free to contact us at 804-245-4048 or at to discuss repairs and refurbished bike sales. Until it is safe to do so, we will, however, not be offering our bike tours…we’ll provide updates on tours as we go forward.

Here’s to emerging from this pandemic as a stronger society, more committed to the environment and to each other!
