The Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k topped the 30,000-mark in total entries received today. The Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k set for Saturday, March 31, will accept 42,500 entries, making it one of the top 10 biggest road races of any distance in the U.S. Last year the race was capped at 40,000, but 41,346 were allowed to sign up.

Over 1,000 youth runners ages 5-12 have registered for the Virginia 529 Kids Run, which crosses the same finish line as the 10k.

Registration is still open for the 2012 Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k presented by MARTIN’S, to be held on March 31.  A total of 42,500 registrants will be accepted. The registration fee is $35 through February 29. The Virginia 529 Kids Run costs $15 through February 29. Registration is available online at www.sportsbackers.org.
